Victoria Hyam is a documentary and street photographer based in Liverpool, having received a BA (Hons) in Photography from Chester University and a MA in Contemporary Curating from MMU, Manchester School of Art.  Victoria continues to explore and focus on all aspects of identity and the human condition. From depictions of constructed identities to intended portrayals of "authentic" identities (whether referencing external, shaping forces or inherited internal pressure), all become vital in beginning to understand the human response to both the environment and the people within it. Travel is a recurrent influence on Victoria's work, allowing not only personal but national identity to be pulled into focus, and her chosen medium of film photography plays an important role in the pursuit of bringing "truth" and "reality" to a genre of visual art that has often been lost to an image-saturated, filtered representation of such.
