KRISTAPS PRIEDE (LV) AND HRISTINA ZAFIROVSKA (MK) SELECTED FOR THE CreArt ARTISTS IN THE PUBLIC SPACE IN AVEIRO (PORTUGAL)
The artists selected by the curator, João Fino, for the CreArt Artists in public space in Aveiro are:
Kristaps Priede, from Liepaja [Latvia]
Hristina Zafirovska, from Skopje [North Macedonia]
The two artists from the CreArt Network will create an urban artwork as part of FESTIVAL DOS CANAIS program, between 7th and 20st July

Kristaps Priede (1990) studied at the Latvian Academy of Arts, earning a master's degree in painting (2017) and sculpture (2021). He also obtained a master's degree in Art in the Public Sphere at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland (2020) and expanded his knowledge further in Switzerland and Great Britain. Priede has participated in exhibitions since 2011, holding over ten solo exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, including Great Britain, Switzerland, and China. He has participated in residencies in Switzerland, Iceland, Singapore, Lithuania and the USA. In 2017, he was awarded the SEB Scholarship in Painting and has received several awards.
HRISTINA ZAFIROVSKA (Skopje, 1983)
I am born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
I have finished secondary art school “Lazar Lichenoski” in Skopje, at the department of applied arts, and graduated in painting and graphic design department at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, R. Macedonia. Postgraduate studies in graphic design at the
Faculty of Design and Multimedia in Skopje, R. Macedonia.
Since 2009, I’m a member of the Association of Artists of my country. I am one of the founding members of the art group and cultural alternative art exhibition space “Art I.N.S.T.I.T.U.T.” in Skopje, established in 2009, also a founder of the female artist group “MOMI” (LADIES) which begins in 2012 with the active implementation of projects across the country and the Balkans.
I am working in the fields of graphic design, painting, installation, drawing, photography, scenography, restoration and conservation of paintings and fresco paintings, mosaic and video.
I actively participate in local and regional projects, border cooperation in the field of culture, also I’m taking part of many festivals, artistic gatherings, art symposiums, public presentations in the Balkans, Europe and beyond. I live and work in Skopje, R. Macedonia.
