I studied Fine arts and History of art and I worked as an art teacher, a research assistant and a curatorial assistant. Living in Regensburg for nearly 15 years now I am today working as a full-time artist with a clear focus on figurative painting. Exploring the boundaries of traditional painting I am painting and drawing with mixed media containing acrylique, oil, spray paint, crayons and sometimes collage. I have been occasionally doing screenprints and monoprints, too, which I try to combine in my upcoming art practice. For me the “De/Construction of painting” is a main approach and motivation at the same time. This is also why Leipzig’s contemporary arts have been a reference to me for some time. I also needed to do some research on my ongoing doctoral thesis about Lovis Corinth at the MdBK. I was always very impressed by the museums and the vivid art scene. In 2023 a double exhibition with Carlo Broschewitz, who also holds a studio at the Baumwollspinnerei, was realized by our gallerist in Darmstadt. So, there is some kind of connection to the location. Together with the artist Anthony Duranthon I have already collaborated with CreART 3.0 in Clermont-Ferrand, when we were hosting a show of our latest work in May this year. In 2021 I was a resident in Pilsen. As I work in mid- to large scale pieces travelling with my car is the easiest way to get my material from A to B. Therefore I tend to apply for residencies within continental Europe.
