I am a textile light artist based in Kaunas, Lithuania. In my art I develop an author technique and create biomorphic textile objects. The emotional connection between human and nature is important to me, so I base my work on the Danish hygge, Japanese wabi sabi philosophies and theories of environmental and evolutionary psychology, which emphasise the importance of nature and light in the everyday life. I do not copy nature, but use the images of memory to interpret it and form a new (un)earthly world. By experimenting with (un)traditional textile technologies and lights, I construct the aesthetic and the mood I want: a feeling-being like being in nature. In my installations I invite the visitor to join in the exploration and sensing of nature and to become an observer, an explorer, a discoverer and a protector.
