CITY OF LUBLIN SELECTS THÉO LEVILLAIN (FR) AND ISMAEL PELTRAU (FR) FOR THe SHORT AIR WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF „FESTIWAL NA ZŁOTEJ”
We are pleased to announce the artists selected by the curators committee in „Festiwal na Złotej” (Festival on Złota Street) for the Short AiR in Lublin between 13-21 September:
ISMAEL PELTREAU (Clermont-Ferrand)
Ismael is a French artist, holder of a Bachelor's degree from EESI Fine Arts (2022) and a Master's degree from ESACM Fine Arts (2025).
His work revolves around research and exploration, presented through performance, installation, sculpture, and video. He intertwines his own life with the subjects he investigates in order to bring them into focus, using specific situations to address broader concepts.
Ismael has participated in several residencies, notably at Namas during the Lithuanian Cultural Season in France and recently at KIC in Skopje, both resulting in exhibitions. He was also part of the curatorial team for the exhibition /’kœr’/core at In Extenso in 2024. He has also exhibited in Meymac as part of the exhibition Première.
THÉO LEVILLAIN (Clermont-Ferrand)
Théo Levillain's artistic practice revolves around the theme of time and space, particularly focusing on the dilated space of sound. Levillain's medium includes sound art, and their notable stylistic approach involves incorporating poetic writing and publishing into their work. Théo Levillain’s first verified exhibition was First, 29th Edition at Abbaye St André - Centre d'art contemporain Meymac in Meymac in 2023, and the most recent exhibition was Tempo: Chapter 1 : “Pourquoi Y A-T-Il Quelque Chose Ici Alors Qu’il Ne Devrait Rien Y Avoir ? “ at In extenso in Clermont Ferrand in 2024. Théo Levillain is exclusively exhibited in France. Levillain has at least no solo shows but 3 group shows over the last one years (for more information, see exhibitions). A notable show was First, 29th Edition at Abbaye St André - Centre d'art contemporain Meymac in Meymac in 2023. Other notable exhibitions were at Centre d'Art Contemporain d'Anglet in Anglet and In extenso in Clermont Ferrand. Théo Levillain has been exhibited with Victor Geny and Elliot Barthez.
