CITY OF VALLADOLID SELECTED THREE CreArt ARTISTS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL AiR IN GALERÍAS VA

The organization team of the CreArt Residence in Galerías VA (14 october - 14 december) has selected the following artists to take part in the program: 

MARCIN RYCZEK (1982, Lublin)

Marcin Ryczek, photographer originated from Lublin.
Marcin Ryczek’s works have been presented at many exhibitions in Japan, USA, Germany, China, Holland, Romania, India, England, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Serbia, Czech Republic, South Korea.
The photographer also had two exhibitions in his hometown of Lublin. His works are currently exhibited at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures (Centrum Spotkania Kultur) in Lublin.
They have been published in the world’s largest magazines, newspapers and websites, including „The Guardian”, „The Telegraph”, „Der Spiegel”, „Yedioth Ahronoth”, „La Repubblica”, „Politiken”, „Athens Voice” and „National Geographic”.
His photographs are often used in the publications by well known Polish reporters, including Wojciech Jagielski and Piotr Kłodkowski. The most recognizable work of the artist – „A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow” – awarded in prestigious, international competitions – was included in the renowned collection of Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris and in the collection of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.
In 2013, the influential American portal „The Huffington Post” recognized it as one of the five best photographs in the world. In 2017, it was
featured on the cover of David Gibson’s book „100 Great Street Photographs”, which confirms its extraordinary popularity.

GERSON BATISTA (1988, Aveiro)

Gerson de Sousa Batista, is a Portuguese visual artist, composer, playwright, multiinstrumentalist, poet, theater creator and multimedia artist from Aveiro. He started his academic path in civil engineering but early on he began composing. He studied arts, composition, music theory, organ and painting techniques at the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory of Aveiro, and since, he has won over 50 international creative awards, published numerous books, paintings, multimedia works, created and staged a wide variety of creations, and has been commissioned, exhibited and played all around the globe, being currently mainly involved in the creation and staging of several “visual installations multimedia works”.
He is the founder of the publishing house DESOUSA EDITIONS, and of CONSERTO PRODUCTIONS, an Artistic Collective, with headquarters in Aveiro (Portugal), for the creation, production and agency of multimedia shows.

HANNA TROFIMOVA (1986, Vinnytsia)

Hanna Trofimova, a Ukrainian director and artist. She pursued her education at The Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Theatre, Cinema, and Television University, specializing in TV directing from 2003 to 2008. Hanna has participated in various Ukrainian and international exhibitions and film festivals. Her artistic endeavors primarily revolve around themes of social justice, individual rights, and the acceptance of corporeality. However, in response to the current challenges faced by her country, Hanna's work has evolved to address the war and aggression inflicted by the russian federation upon Ukraine. Through her art, Hanna Trofimova aims to reflect on her own experiences and emotions.
