“Body continents 1, Body Language 1, Body Language 2 e Hollowing-out”
The main theme of the work is the notion of a second skin. The artist is interested in any object related to the body, such as fabrics and clothing. These are considered vehicles for story fragments. The notion of space is also present in the work, through memory. Garance is interested in the memory of places and the memory of bodies.
The projects are independent and the reading interacts with each other.
Laura Dzerve [Liepaja, Latvia]
“Vai šis kronis ir tā vērts?, Miera simbols, Iejūties manā ādā e Manas saknes”
The artist works on the problems of demographics and alcoholism, which profoundly affect culture and the economy.
The Latvian nation is dying. Statistical data from the Latvian Development Agency show that within 160 years there will not be a single Latvian left in Latvia. But, the population continues not to create large families, due to difficult financial conditions. The artist represents these scenarios with her works, which can be beautiful as a whole or individually.
Nacho Roman [Valladolid, Spain )
"Sonic Portraits of Aveiro"
Sound art and live performance initiative that seeks to explore and interpret the city's soundscape. This project arises from the capture and field recordings of urban soundscapes of Aveiro, interweaving them into an artistic sound experience. "Sonic Portraits of Aveiro" examines the relationship between sound, place, memory and identity.
Rūta Simutyte [Kaunas, Lituânia|Lithuania]
“Heaven”
The installation "Heaven" conveys the spiritual state of being in the forest, in a consumer society we are seemingly forced to immerse ourselves in the rhythm of the city, chaos and haste….
Tiago Margaça [Aveiro, Portugal]
“Organic Propagation”
This work is about action on space.
The artist creates a work that can be observed during the work process. With this, the aim is to give the public a closer look at the growth of the work.
