CreArt 3.0 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM IN HDLU DURING 2024
The CreArt Educational Program is part of the European project CreArt 3.0, aiming to enhance collaboration between local schools, cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations, and independent professionals and companies in the cultural and creative sectors. The program builds and strengthens intergenerational connections, creates a network for educational exchange in culture, and encourages future participation of school children in the cultural life of the city. Over three years, the program will involve 76 schools in the project’s partner cities, more than 4,500 students and teachers, and 47 artists.
In its second edition, six schools will participate (Ivo Andrić Elementary School, Kustošija Elementary School, Središće Elementary School, I. Gymnasium, School of Applied Arts and Design, and Private Art Gymnasium) with over 120 students and six teachers. The program consists of exhibition tours with an educational booklet of tasks and workshops conducted in schools under the mentorship of artists Duje Medić, Martina Miholić, Ana Ratković Sobota, Damir Sobota, Melinda Šefčić, and Diana Trohar.
The consortium, composed of Nika Šimičić (CreArt 3.0 project coordinator), Ivana Garmaz (volunteer), Lorena Šimić (educational program leader and author of the educational booklet), and professors Anđela Zanki (School of Applied Arts and Design), Maja Ferček (I. Gymnasium), Romina Makoter (Private Art Gymnasium), Slaven Jurić (Kustošija Elementary School), Lahorka Rožić (Ivo Andrić Elementary School), and Marija Kladarin (Središće Elementary School), designed an educational program based on the Picelj and Friends exhibition for 2024.
Lorena Šimić developed the educational booklet under the supervision of the Educational Department of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, designed by Duje Medić, and the booklets were ready for use at the beginning of September.
All the exhibition tours with the educational booklet for all six schools have been conducted, and the workshops with artists have commenced.
The educational program will conclude with a joint exhibition of students’ works, created during the workshops, at the MSU School (Avenija Dubrovnik 17, Zagreb) on November 14, 2024.
