Coordinatation team from creative center Galerías VA selects the following artists for the International Residence Program 2025 between May 19- June 29. 

Congratulations! 

MARHARYTA ZHURUNOVA  

Marharyta Zhurunova, an artist from Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Born on November 29, 1994. Engaged in printed graphics, installation, and graphics transitioning into installation. Works with themes of emotional trauma and ways to deal with it through artistic methods. Studied at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing at the Department of Book and Easel Graphics,
and graduated in 2018 with a Master's degree. Since 2015, she has been working in co-authorship with Bohdan Lokatyr in the field of environmental, site-specific art.
In 2019, both artists became winners of scholarships of the President of Ukraine for young writers and artists, and received a grant from the President of Ukraine to create the second volume of the art book "Ukrainian Bestiary".
Finalists of the contemporary art competition named after Natan Altman (Vinnytsia, 2018), SecondBiennale of Young Art (Kharkiv, 2019), M17 Sculpture Prize: Roots and Pollen (M17 Gallery, Kyiv, 2020).

IRENA FRANTAL

Irena Frantal is a visual artist from Zagreb. Places she inhabited in pursuit of education in arts were Zagreb’s Academy of Fine Arts (BA Graphic Arts, 2004.), London’s University of the Arts (MA Book Arts, 2010.) and Berlin’s University of the Arts.
She presented her art in numerous solo exhibitions in her home town Zagreb (in most of the important contemporary art galleries) and in group shows in Europe, most notably Zagreb’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Vienna’s Museum of Applied Arts (Mak).
She uses book, drawing, sculpture, light, and space for play and experiment.
She travels in pursuit of new places for investigating her view of the art / world and ideas that make us (Art Omi NYS, Salzamt Linz, coGalleries Berlin among other art residencies). She is a full-time artist, a member of HDLU and HZSU.
