FRENCH ARTIST BASED IN OULU, CHRISTELLE MAS, SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE I THE FESTIVAL CREAVA 25 (VALLADOLID)

The organization team of CreaVA 25 has selected the project "Transworlds" from the french artist based in Oulu, Christelle Mas.

“Transworld” project explores the habitability of extraterrestrial landscapes, blurring the line between dream and reality. The photographs portray timeless, paradisiacal environments that evoke a sense of otherworldliness where physical and virtual worlds intersect.

The concept of a better future is also depicted, portraying timeless and paradisiacal landscapes where we seek to push beyond the horizon. Can we rebuild our lives anywhere in this ever-changing frontier? The horizon often symbolizes the ‘future.’ The ongoing ‘Territories’ photographs series blurs the line between dream and reality, exploring the habitability of extraterrestrial landscapes and embracing diversity in our quest for human habitation in the infinite cosmos.

The last frontier is protean. How to cross the horizon? Photographs series are at the same time travel images from place to place and transitions from time to time, in between. I bring together two or three images on a single print and thus associating two or three moments on one place and seeing how this is superimposing. I took inspiration of northern landscapes and the northern lights. I live in Oulu which is situated by the Gulf of Bothnia next to the sea."
