David Louf aka mr.June

From a Bboy-breakdancer in the ninetees mr.June (David Louf) started graffiti in 1985 in the south of the Netherlands.
After working as a graphic designer for fifteen years, Louf decided that to be able to truly excel at his work he needed to focus all his creative energy into one project.
His sense of design, art, graffiti and muralismwhere all combined into a single artistic endeavor, hinging upon his canvases and murals working in tandem. It lead him on a quest for the perfect form, which he found in the hexagon.

Employing perspective in a painting, this shape can also become the imagined outline of a cube tilted to the side. Since he formed this idea, Louf has made it the subject of every single one of the unbroken sequence of ‘cube’ canvases he has been painting ever since.

My mural work is based on the dynamics between me and the specific site.
As a result I present the viewer an alternativ experience of the environment, which has been optically manipulated by form, colors and perspectives.

I always respond to the wall and the surroundings in order to create a unique cohesive with the environment, the painting and the viewer. This gives him the ultimate creative freedom to ultimately enjoy the process
