SHIMA SALEHI (FI) AND KRISTAPS PRIEDE (LV) SELECTED FOR THE RESIDENCE PROGRAM IN LEIPZIG (DE/CONSTRUCTION OF PAINTING)
The Curatots Committee in HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists) and Hafenkombinat selects the following artists for the AiR De/construction of Painting between September - November:

- Kristaps Priede, Latvia

Shima Salehi (b. 1991, Esfahan, Iran) is a multidisciplinary visualartist based in Oulu, Finland. Her work explores themes of genderjustice, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability,blending traditional influences with contemporary techniques. Sheblends different artistic styles, pushing boundaries to createinnovative works that aim to raise awareness and inspire socialchange. Her creative process is driven by a desire to make animpact and spark meaningful conversations through art.
Kristaps Priede (1990) studied at the Latvian Academy of Arts, earning a master's degree in painting (2017) and sculpture (2021). He also obtained a master's degree in Art in the Public Sphere at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland (2020) and expanded his knowledge further in Switzerland and Great Britain. Priede has participated in exhibitions since 2011, holding over ten solo exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, including Great Britain, Switzerland, and China. He has participated in residencies in Switzerland, Iceland, Singapore, Lithuania and the USA. In 2017, he was awarded the SEB Scholarship in Painting and has received several awards.
