BARBARA ROSARIO (PT) AND OKSANA SOBOL (UA) SELECTED FOR THE AiR IN CERAMICS IN AVEIRO (PORTUGAL)
The Portuguese curator, Patrícia Sarrico, has selected to attend the AiR in ceramics in Aveiro:
-Barbara Rosario, from Aveiro;
- Oksana Sobol, from Lviv, Ukraine:
Both artists will be working between May and June in the Aleluia Cerâmicas, a century-old renown factory, that gathers tradition and heritage with innovation in the production of tiles and other ceramic coverings.
BARBARA ROSARIO (AVEIRO, 1995)
Afro-descendant sculptor with a degree in Fine Arts – Sculpture (Masters, FBAUP, 2019). Her work addresses concepts such as mortality, aging and the concept of the body-machine, reflecting on issues of otherness, identity and survival. She currently shares a workspace in Aveiro with other multidisciplinary makers and seeks to explore the connections between Art, Science and Technology.
OKSANA SOBOL (LVIV, 1978)
Interdisciplinary artist. Explores the connections between poetry, music and images through various media.Works combine elements of painting, objects, photography, post-processing of images, video and sound. Often poetry becomes the impetus and basis for the work. Different media interact with each other, creating an immersive effect.
Until 2022, she focused on the themes of time, memory, technological progress and ecology. Now the themes of identity and tracking the changes caused by the
war have been added to them.
