GABRIELA BENEDETI AND DANIIL REVKOVSKYI PRESENT THEIR FINAL PROJECT IN GALERIA LABIRYNT (LUBLIN)
The artists who came to Lublin, Poland, as part of the project CreArt3.0 for an Artist in Residence program had the opportunity to present their works at Galeria Labirynt. Galeria Labirynt is a modern municipal cultural institution focused on art. It has existed since 1956, when it functioned as the Bureau of Art Exhibitions. It regularly hosts exhibitions of artists who can be called contemporary classics as well as newcomers. The gallery constantly reacts to the changing artistic and social reality. The artists who participated in the project in Lublin were Gabriela Benedeti (1988) from Aveiro, Portugal and Daniil Revkovskyi (1993), born in Charkiv, Ukraine, currently living in Lublin.
Gabriela Benedeti's audio-visual exhibition "Projechotomy" was created during an artist residency organized as part of the CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together project, co-financed by the European Union's Creative Europe program.
The artist focuses on the relationships between humans, the environment and industry. Through her works, she confronts us with questions about our choices, responsibility for the environment and the future of the planet.
The exhibition was opened on December 5-8, 2024 in Galeria Labirynt in Lublin. Curated by: Magdalena Linkowska
On Friday, 6th December, we presented the final project by our resident artist in Galeria Labirynt in Lublin.
"Venom. "Hydro Power Plant" is a new exhibition of one of the most interesting contemporary Ukrainian artists, Daniil Revkovskyi. The main character of the project is the fictional character Leonid Karensky, with a carefully created biography especially for the exhibition. The exhibition is an announcement of the artist's larger project about music of the 1970s
At the exhibition can be seen, among others, a copy of the vinyl album "Starlight", a series of drastic drawings, a broken alcohol bottle, a cyanide ampoule and a map of Ukrainian power plants. All these elements are connected by the figure of Leonid Karensky created by the artist, who plays the main role in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open till 5th January.
