"Make eARTh Great Again” Street Art CreArt Project in Lublin

Blog Single

The project will be a combination of an artistic film, documentation of street art activities around the world during the pandemic and the creation of a mural in Lublin. It will be  a kind of a report covering the last few months of our lives in this new, unusual reality that began with the COVID-19 pandemic. We will show how the reality has changed since the first months of the coronavirus pandemic in Europe. We will remind viewers of media reports about the pandemic and at the same time we will show how everyday, ordinary life was going on nearby. The report will also include drone shots taken during the period of harsh restrictions on te use of public spaces. We will recall the commitment of Lublin residents who stayed at home following the guidelines.

Thanks to the partners of the "CreArt. Network of cities for artistic creativity” project implemented at the Culture Department of the City of Lublin and co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, we will show how artists adapted to new working conditions, including the community of street art artists who began to create at home or in their neighbourhoods. This is an unusual situation for street art, which has so far spread throughout the world thanks to traveling artists. The final stage of the project will be painting a mural to remind us all that "it will still be beautiful".

The results of the project will be presented online to participants of the Cross-Border Cooperation Congress – Lublin 2020 on October 7, 2020.
