The organization team of the CreArt Residence in Galeria Labirynt (4 november - 6 december) has selected the following artists to take part in the program:

DANIIL REVKOVSKYI (Kharkiv, 1993) is an artist from Ukraine, who combines different formats of artistic practices (installations, reconstructions, video, archives), exploring the contexts and landscapes of the industrial regions of Ukraine. He graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art with a degree in graphic design. He was shortlisted for the PinchukArtCentre Prize in 2018, 2020 and 2022. Winner of the public choice PinchukArtCentre Prize 2020 for the project “Hooligans”. Since 2012, he has been collaborating with Andriy Rachinskyi. In 2022 he won the top prize of the “Allegro Prize” - the largest international competition of contemporary art in Poland. In 2024 he represented the National Pavilion of Ukraine at the 60th La Biennale di Venezia.

He has developed numerous solo exhibitions caracterised by the use of industrial materials combined to create sculptures that claim social issues. As well, he developes his artistic activity as photographer, depicting natural or human disasters that have damaged modern societies.

For this residence, he wants to create a musical concert to celebrate the production of 30,000 Polish ŻUK cars. The project has a performative character, assuming the creation of a vinyl record with songs composed by him. He is interested in the history of the city of Lublin in which he lives, in his artistic practice he is based on searching for characteristic elements of the history of a given place. Important for him in this project is to focus on the very industry that existed in Lublin during the communist era - the production of Żuk cars, and sound analysis of music festivals.

GABRIELA BENEDETI (Aveiro, 1988) is defined as a proactive problem-solver, recognized for dynamism and creativity, with strong organizational skills and focus. Motivated by personal drive and proficient in fostering motivation. In recent years, She has delved into the realm of audiovisual media, exploring its diverse languages and techniques through projects predominantly situated within the cultural, environmental, and educational sectors.

Her project called Dichotomy of Light is a mapped projection installation that critically examines the transition from coal to wood pellets as energy sources. This project seeks to deconstruct the perceived sustainability of these options, inviting audiences to reflect on the true costs of our energy choices. The project explores the tension between coal and wood pellets in the context of energy solutions. The project utilizes advanced projection techniques on constructed supports made from materials like coal, wood, and pellets. To craft the narrative, I employ artistic concepts such as visual deconstruction, visual metaphors, and analogies between industrial and natural spaces. By contrasting images of coal mines with those of devastated forests, the installation illustrates how industrial exploitation persists, merely changing form and location. The sound design (built with fire noise elements) will be present to increase the emotional perception about the subject.
